How much does a table cost?
The first hour is £15 per table and includes four drinks. Each additional hour is £8 per table.
Do I need to book?
Booking ahead is recommended for busy evenings, larger groups and events.
Do I need to be a serious board gamer?
No. The café is designed for casual catch-ups, console gaming, desserts, live sport, movie nights and group events as well as board games.
What games do you have?
There is a selection of familiar board games and social favourites, alongside console gaming and tournament-style activities.
Do you have console gaming?
Yes. Console gaming is part of the venue experience, with lounge seating and large screens.
Do you show every Champions League game?
Yes. We have a TNT Sports commercial subscription and show TNT Sports events, including every UEFA Champions League game and Amazon Prime’s exclusive Tuesday picks. Contact us to confirm a specific match before travelling.
Do you run movie nights?
Yes. We offer selected movie-night style events and can discuss suitable private group viewing setups.
Can I visit just for desserts or karak chai?
Yes. You are welcome to visit for drinks, desserts and a relaxed catch-up even if you are not planning a full gaming session.
Do you serve alcohol?
No. The café is alcohol-free and serves hot drinks, cold drinks, mocktails, milkshakes and other non-alcoholic options.

Can I book a birthday party?
Yes. Birthday parties can be arranged as group bookings or, where suitable, private venue hire.
Can I hire the whole venue?
Yes. Private hire is available for celebrations, businesses, schools, charities, clubs, community groups and other organised events.
Can businesses or schools book?
Yes. Corporate socials, workshops, school and college group visits and organised activities can all be discussed with us.
Is there parking?
Free parking is available on site at The Stables. Follow local signage and any restrictions in place when you visit.
Is The Board Game Café family friendly?
Yes. Families and children are welcome. Board games, consoles, desserts and relaxed seating make it easy for families to enjoy the venue together. For later evening visits with younger children, contact us if you want to check a particular time or event.
Do you have Wi-Fi?
Yes. Free Wi-Fi is available for customers.
Can you arrange catering for groups?
Yes. Pre-arranged catering and group food/drink options can be discussed when you enquire.
Can we use the venue screens for an event?
For suitable group and private bookings, ask us about using venue screens for presentations, branded content or event material.
